Mediterranean Moment

This 3D handwoven seascape captures the eternal dance between sea and shore, inspired by the luminous emerald waters of the Mediterranean. Tumbling waves break across the textile surface in silky formations, their movement frozen yet alive in woven thread. Vivid rust-red stones punctuate the sandy foreground, while the water travels up onto the beach in that timeless rhythm known to anyone who has stood at the water's edge.

The piece explores the ever-changing boundary where land meets sea—that shifting line of foam and sand that is never quite the same from one moment to the next. Through the dimensionality of the weave, I've tried to capture not just what the eye sees, but what the body feels: the invigoration of warm sun and sandy toes, the clearing of thoughts as you gaze toward the dark blue horizon, the peaceful rhythm of breaking waves that seems to sync with your own breathing.
